Structure of the Prairie Star Quilters Guild

Due to the fact that we have 2 “chapters” (day and night time) we have a unique set-up. We will be the first to admit that it is a little confusing. Many people don’t really understand it until they actually become a board member. But here is an overview to try to uncover part of the mystery!

Executive Board – responsible for making the month to month decisions – the governing board
President, Treasurer, Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Education Chairman (duties obvious)
Program Vice President – In charge of speakers and workshops for the current year
Contracts Chairperson – Working on securing speakers and scheduling workshops for the coming year
Membership Chairperson – Organizes membership registration, membership directory, new member packets, and bee teas.

Nominating Chairperson – Secures the executive officers for the coming year
Public Relations – Gets guild information to newspapers, provides informational brochures about PSQG to quilt shops.

Daytime and Evening Vice Presidents – In charge of running those meetings and carrying pertinent info from executive meetings to members at chapter meetings

Chapter Boards – The fun takes place at the chapter meetings and these are the people who help with that.
Daytime and Nighttime Presidents – Appoint chapter board members

Secretary – records minutes from chapter meeting
Hospitality – coordinates refreshments
Education – presents information prepared by Education Chairman
Membership Hostess – Sits by door to greet members, facilitates membership sign-up, guest registration
New Member Hostess – Gathers details for introduction of new members at chapter meetings
Workshop Hostess – Takes sign-ups for up coming workshop<
Programs Hostess – Takes care of speakers’ needs, introduces speaker
